BIGGIE: Asia Sanchez
smalls 1: Gabie Bambalan smalls 2: Ella Fong Name: Asia Sanchez Major (+minor): Business Administration (+Public Health) Describe your relationship with your BIGGIE/smalls: Both of them are business baddies🫡, so first and foremost I find it important to support them to succeed academically and professionally. All three of us have had our own Mr. Worldwide 🌎 moment with the most recent being Gabie coming back from France. We love sharing about our experiences abroad and our dream destinations. Lastly, we all love to eat new food. Gabie and Ella are much better cooks than I am (I just provide the kitchen). A couple of weeks ago we all made soup together that fed me for the whole week LOL (pictured below). I find Gabie and I to be more similar in demeanor whereas Ella is more energetic than Gabie and I combined. We all balance each other out very well. When we are together I know I can tell them the random thoughts in my head or go on a rant about something that’s bothering me, and they both will happily listen. I am so happy that I get to be their big and I can’t wait for all of the fun memories we make together as a prestige fam ✨💗 What's something that you've learned from your BIGGIE/smalls?: After meeting my Big (shoutout the one and only Mark Choa), I doubted my ability to mentor anyone as well as he has for me. When he graduated I was nervous to start building the fam from scratch as a matriarch. However, what I learned from picking up both Ella and Gabie is that I love mentorship. Helping both of them work through their struggles helps me work through mine. They support me as much as I support them and I love it. What's your favorite memory with your BIGGIE/smalls?: I loved both of their pickup days. Although I was by myself for both, I enjoyed making it special for them. In terms of altogether, this is the first couple of months that we can all hangout with eachother but so far I love our cooking hangouts. It’s so fun to plan and pick recipes together. A highlight of one of our cooking hangouts was taking Ella to her first Wally’s trip 😄. Also another favorite memory I have is being in dance practice for the first time with both of them, I am so happy we can all be in BK together. Name: Gabie Bambalan Major (+minor): Data Science + Business Administration Describe your relationship with your BIGGIE/smalls: Asia is very much like the ate I never had. I look up to her in every aspect of life, academic or not. She's constantly on her grind yet balances her work and social life so well. She's always there for me even when I was abroad, and her consistent support is a great motivator of mine. I love being in her company and how I can go to her for literally anything. I have so much love for Asia and I'm genuinely so grateful for our friendship. Though I met Ella not too long ago, she balances out the fam's dynamic super well. She definitely brings the golden retriever energy to Asia and me's black cat energy. Its so easy to smile around her positive energy. What's something that you've learned from your BIGGIE/smalls?: Of the many things Asia has taught me, what has stuck with me the most is keeping a level-headed mindset when approaching problems. She taught me how to look at things from different perspectives which I really appreciate as an indecisive person. Ella has taught me that people who run in the snow (like her) exist! Jokes aside Ella has taught me the importance of doing things outside your comfort zone. Seeing her involve herself in extracurriculars that she normally wouldn't consider doing is super admirable. What's your favorite memory with your BIGGIE/smalls?: As a fam, my favorite memory is cooking zuppa toscana. Cooking together was such a wholesome bonding moment. Name: Ella Fong Major (+minor): Business Administration Describe your relationship with your BIGGIE/smalls: I’m energetic, chaotic, and always a little delulu. Asia and Gabie are calm, rational, and grounded so we all definitely balance each other out well. We love chit chatting over food and bonding over our travel aspirations and life experiences. When I’m having my life crisis of the week haha, Asia is always the one to pull me out. She rationalizes my hysteria, tells me to take life one step at a time, and makes me laugh until I can’t even remember why I was originally upset. She’s the person I turn to for advice most often. What's something that you've learned from your BIGGIE/smalls?: I’ve learned to take uncertainty in stride, not stress out as much, and just have fun 🤩 What's your favorite memory with your BIGGIE/smalls?: My favorite memory so far is our Prestige dinners! Our Fam gathered to chaotically cook a homemade meal but we forgot sausage (the main ingredient). After attempting to instacart raw meat 😬, we decided to make a mid-prep pit stop at Wally’s. We penguin-waddled our way there, terrified to slip and die on the ice. Of course we burnt the bread as well- Whole Food’s bread is very deceiving by the way. Still, even with all our kitchen mishaps there is no one I would rather cook with than Asia and Gabie. |
