BIGGIE: Adrian Pastolero, 5th Year, Biochemistry Major, Psychology Minor smalls: Shawn Padilla, 4th Year, Computer Engineering/Computer Science Major Fam: Allegiance >Describe your relationship with your BIGGIE/smalls!<
AP: Shawn is like my little brother in Barkada! Although Covid ruined the program and he's slowly becoming ghost status (as all oldies will), he brought electricity whenever we hung out and his happy-go-lucky attitude helped me stay positive during tough times! Despite not being able to see him every day, I can always reconnect with him and it feels like nothing has changed. Shawn is an absolute ball of energy (have you ever heard him giggle... it's irreplaceable lmao) and is a great friend to be around when I can truly be myself. SP: The biggest clowns in the game. Maintaining the highest level of unit energy at all times. But in all seriousness although I only see him once in a semester, when the stars align, I think of my big as my bro. Although we may have differing ideals and bounds at times we always respect each other no matter what. >What's something you've learned from your BIGGIE/smalls?< AP: Shawn taught me to enjoy the little things in life when expectations don't go my way, and to be comfortable with myself by not worrying about what other people think. I've realized that too many expectations may lead to disappointment if it's not the outcome you hoped for, and sometimes I have felt pressured to change my personality a bit to fit in with others. Shawn however displays his character with his chest held up high and that truly makes me admire his positive outlook on life. SP: My big taught me to relax, have fun, but never feel pressured to do things out of my comfort zone. >What's your favorite memory with your BIGGIE/smalls?< AP: My favorite memory with Shawn would probably be the day Allegiance first welcomed him into the fam (spring 2019 shore). Finding the perfect gift to get him took a good amount of side conversations to see what he was into/what he needed for his dorm (thanks Guin!). Then, I kinda went a little overboard making his string at the BIGGIEsmalls reveal a little too long in the AAC, which made me feel bad that he was the last one to get his pairing and STILL couldn't complete it without my help. Lastly, the icing on the cake was an absolute feast at Yamato's with all of Allegiance when he was gifted absolute unit status pounding sashimi until he was stuffed (and my poor attempt at ordering WAY too much eel for the boys... iykyk). After this day I knew that this special friendship will last for years to come, and I truly appreciate every moment we have together. Stay gold my anak! SP: My favorite memory would probably be the time he was trying to get me to sign up for BIGGIEsmalls on the day it was due while playing pool was the only thing on my mind at the time oof.. |
