smalls 1: Gabie Bambalan smalls 2: Ella Fong Name: Asia Sanchez Major (+minor): Business Administration (+Public Health) Describe your relationship with your BIGGIE/smalls: Both of them are business baddies🫡, so first and foremost I find it important to support them to succeed academically and professionally. All three of us have had our own Mr. Worldwide 🌎 moment with the most recent being Gabie coming back from France. We love sharing about our experiences abroad and our dream destinations. Lastly, we all love to eat new food. Gabie and Ella are much better cooks than I am (I just provide the kitchen). A couple of weeks ago we all made soup together that fed me for the whole week LOL (pictured below). I find Gabie and I to be more similar in demeanor whereas Ella is more energetic than Gabie and I combined. We all balance each other out very well. When we are together I know I can tell them the random thoughts in my head or go on a rant about something that’s bothering me, and they both will happily listen. I am so happy that I get to be their big and I can’t wait for all of the fun memories we make together as a prestige fam ✨💗 What's something that you've learned from your BIGGIE/smalls?: After meeting my Big (shoutout the one and only Mark Choa), I doubted my ability to mentor anyone as well as he has for me. When he graduated I was nervous to start building the fam from scratch as a matriarch. However, what I learned from picking up both Ella and Gabie is that I love mentorship. Helping both of them work through their struggles helps me work through mine. They support me as much as I support them and I love it. What's your favorite memory with your BIGGIE/smalls?: I loved both of their pickup days. Although I was by myself for both, I enjoyed making it special for them. In terms of altogether, this is the first couple of months that we can all hangout with eachother but so far I love our cooking hangouts. It’s so fun to plan and pick recipes together. A highlight of one of our cooking hangouts was taking Ella to her first Wally’s trip 😄. Also another favorite memory I have is being in dance practice for the first time with both of them, I am so happy we can all be in BK together. Name: Gabie Bambalan Major (+minor): Data Science + Business Administration Describe your relationship with your BIGGIE/smalls: Asia is very much like the ate I never had. I look up to her in every aspect of life, academic or not. She's constantly on her grind yet balances her work and social life so well. She's always there for me even when I was abroad, and her consistent support is a great motivator of mine. I love being in her company and how I can go to her for literally anything. I have so much love for Asia and I'm genuinely so grateful for our friendship. Though I met Ella not too long ago, she balances out the fam's dynamic super well. She definitely brings the golden retriever energy to Asia and me's black cat energy. Its so easy to smile around her positive energy. What's something that you've learned from your BIGGIE/smalls?: Of the many things Asia has taught me, what has stuck with me the most is keeping a level-headed mindset when approaching problems. She taught me how to look at things from different perspectives which I really appreciate as an indecisive person. Ella has taught me that people who run in the snow (like her) exist! Jokes aside Ella has taught me the importance of doing things outside your comfort zone. Seeing her involve herself in extracurriculars that she normally wouldn't consider doing is super admirable. What's your favorite memory with your BIGGIE/smalls?: As a fam, my favorite memory is cooking zuppa toscana. Cooking together was such a wholesome bonding moment. Name: Ella Fong Major (+minor): Business Administration Describe your relationship with your BIGGIE/smalls: I’m energetic, chaotic, and always a little delulu. Asia and Gabie are calm, rational, and grounded so we all definitely balance each other out well. We love chit chatting over food and bonding over our travel aspirations and life experiences. When I’m having my life crisis of the week haha, Asia is always the one to pull me out. She rationalizes my hysteria, tells me to take life one step at a time, and makes me laugh until I can’t even remember why I was originally upset. She’s the person I turn to for advice most often. What's something that you've learned from your BIGGIE/smalls?: I’ve learned to take uncertainty in stride, not stress out as much, and just have fun 🤩 What's your favorite memory with your BIGGIE/smalls?: My favorite memory so far is our Prestige dinners! Our Fam gathered to chaotically cook a homemade meal but we forgot sausage (the main ingredient). After attempting to instacart raw meat 😬, we decided to make a mid-prep pit stop at Wally’s. We penguin-waddled our way there, terrified to slip and die on the ice. Of course we burnt the bread as well- Whole Food’s bread is very deceiving by the way. Still, even with all our kitchen mishaps there is no one I would rather cook with than Asia and Gabie. small: Sofie Cook Fam: Royalty Name: Fiona O'Brien Major (+minor): Biochemistry Describe your relationship with your BIGGIE/smalls: All of my smalls are awesome and I have made great memories with them over the years. One of my favorite experiences has been choreographing a Barkada dance piece with my smalls Sofie. I think we make a great team and I’ll miss her when she goes abroad! What's something that you've learned from your BIGGIE/smalls?: My smalls have definitely helped me learn to chill out more and be less of a perfectionist about everything. That might also just be a royalty fam thing in general too :) What's your favorite memory with your BIGGIE/smalls?: Literally just the whole process of choreographing and teaching Fire in The Sky together and then performing it on stage, best co-choreographer ever!! Name: Sofie Cook Major (+minor): Data Science Describe your relationship with your BIGGIE/smalls: With my big, we have mainly connected through dance! She is such a great role model and is always killing it. I love that I get to look up to her. What's something that you've learned from your BIGGIE/smalls?: I have learned how to step out of my comfort zone from my big and not be afraid of new experiences! We choreographed together and I don’t have any dance experience so it was awesome that she was willing to choreograph with me! What's your favorite memory with your BIGGIE/smalls?: In our first session of choreography, we were just vibin in studio a together trying to figure out what we wanted our dance to be and we just had a fun time getting creative and messing around with fans. Besides my family, I never really grew up with someone who loves basketball and follows the NBA as much as I do, so it's been so fun playing pickup, trashing talking each other (he's a bum), and talking fantasy basketball trades at 3 AM LMAOOO But seriously, I don't think I could've asked for a better big. I know I'm a professional yapper, but Iggy's there to hear all of it, give me advice (he actually talks - it's crazy man), and help me get myself together. I know he's always got me, and it's super reassuring since I never want to take my support system for granted. It's truly a brotherhood when it comes to me and him - there's no better way to describe it What's something that you've learned from your BIGGIE/smalls?: Something I've learned from Iggy is how to take care of the people you care about. The way he looks out for me is the way I try to look out for everyone - I want to always give and be unselfish because of Iggy What's your favorite memory with your BIGGIE/smalls?: My favorite memory with Iggy has to be going to the Knicks v. Celtics game at TD Garden last year when Immanuel Quickley dropped 38 points in a 2OT Knicks W - I was chirping the entire game from the rafters and had so much fun talking trash to him and the rest of the Celtics fans in our section LOL Name: Sofie Cook Hometown: Oakland, CA Major (& Minor): Data Science (Math) Year of Graduation: 2025 Hobbies: Soccer, foodie, going to concerts, violin Favorite Filipino Food: lechon Current Favorite Song: Paul Revere by Noah Kahan Favorite thing About Barkada: dance! and my fam 👑👑 Other Extracurricular Activities: all intramural sports lol Fun Fact: I have zero cousins If you could have a world record what would it be and why?: I can name any Taylor Swift song only by only listening to the first 5 seconds Name: Felipe Da La Garza Hometown: Houston, TX Major (& Minor): Electrical Engineering Year of Graduation: 2025 Hobbies: Gym, watching anime, reading manga, sightseeing and traveling, cooking, love going to concerts Favorite Filipino Food: adobo Current Favorite Song: Sense - Last Dinosaurs Favorite thing About Barkada: Current thing I love about Barkada is just the amount of support the community will give you while dancing especially when you might be struggling to pick up on something they'll always find a way to help you look and feel better Other Extracurricular Activities: Community Service & Social Chair for Sigma Beta Rho, Co-Op/internship at Boston Water & Sewer Commission Fun Fact: I've never broken a bone in my body (I drink milk every day) If you could have a world record what would it be and why?: How many times I say the word trust in a day because whenever I want to reassure someone of something I make sure to end it off with trust to that they'll trust what I say. Paulina & patrick - sexyBIGGIE: Paulina Acosta
small: Patrick Lioanag Fam: Sexy and I know it Name: Paulina Acosta Major (+Minor): CS + Design Fam: sexy Describe your relationship with your BIGGIE/smalls: Very silly, very whimsical, very rahhhh. I see him all the time and I enjoy how much fun we can have and how silly we can be. Whenever one of us lies, the other always picks up on it and continues the lie and it's always so fun. Also, I appreciate his presence a lot and if I ever want to go on an adventure I'd always want Patrick to be there (even though he doesn't pick up my calls...). What's something that you've learned from your BIGGIE/smalls?: He's taught me how to stay grounded and be a bit more level-headed (even though he's definitely not level-headed when he plays video games). He'll always be honest with me whether I'm being stupid or valid, and he looks at things very unbiasedly so I feel like I can always trust what he says. What's your favorite memory with your BIGGIE/smalls?: Hmmmm I feel like I see him all the time and I have a bunch of memories to choose from like walking all the way back to campus from North End or going thrifting in NJ and Boston, but my favorite memory would probably have to be one of our NYC trips. We both live in Jersey so Patrick drove me to the train station but on the way Patrick kinda ran five red lights by accident- but it was in a very isolated area where no one was and the red lights were hard to see so when we realized we just kept giggling. And then it got worse when Jasmin (my big) called us and we tried gaslighting her about our location and it was such a silly trip to the train. Then when we finally got to NYC we met up with everyone else but we'd whisper to each other stuff like "what if we bought a cheesecake" and we'd silently wander off from everyone else and go on our own side quest. And that day we took the iconic picture of me and him where he's holding a fire t-shirt we found at one of the stalls (ifykyk). Name: Patrick Lioanag Major (+Minor): Cybersecurity + Business Administration Fam: Sexy Describe your relationship with your BIGGIE/smalls: She calls me and I don't pick up so someone else calls me and then I pick up lol. All jokes aside, Paulina has been my Barkada day 1 and she's the reason why I met so many of my friends and why wanted to become more involved. Most of the time I see her is by coincidence but when I do see her it feels like we didn't skip a beat. Pao is someone that I can look up to as a cs warrior and a gaslighter and is always there to lend an ear. What's something that you've learned from your BIGGIE/smalls?: Slayer!! jk something that pao taught me without actually teaching me is not sweating the small stuff, especially with my fundies woes, and to just be positive and reminding me of the simple joys in life. What's your favorite memory with your BIGGIE/smalls?: Some of my favorite memories was going to NYC with her and other sexy fam heads and just going on a silly little sidequest in the city when none of us were in school with just eats dessert and then running red lights driving to harrison station whoops. But other than that getting picked up by Pao on reveal day was super fun since at the time I had no idea who my big was and I thought I was going to allegiance :( but the sexy reveal was a core memory we ate cake at centennial and my double g maya was there hehehe Name: Vincent Ho Hometown: Poughkeepsie, NY Major (& Minor): Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry Year of Graduation: 2024 Hobbies: Basketball, FIFA, Squash Favorite Filipino Food: Julian's Mom's Sinigang Current Favorite Song: Moonlight Sunrise by TWICE Favorite thing About Barkada: 5th years Other Extracurricular Activities: HKSA, ASU, Club Squash Fun Fact: I have a 5.0 star Uber rating If you could have a world record what would it be and why?: Most FIFA wins over Vito Montesa bc I'm better Name: Vincent Demaisip Hometown: Stewartsville, NJ Major (& Minor): Computer Science Year of Graduation: 2027 Hobbies: Tennis, Volleyball, Karaoke Favorite Filipino Food: Balut Current Favorite Song: When I Met You by APO Hiking Society Favorite thing About Barkada: Ilove the sense of community in Barkada!
