BIGGIE: Meryl Franco, 3rd Year, Biology
smalls: Esmé Bonnin-Farrales, 2nd Year, Computer Science + Behavioral Neuroscience Family: Beast Farm -- Describe your relationship with your BIGGIE/smalls! M: Esme is like a sister to me! We clicked immediately when we first met and we are similar in so many ways! We love to hang out - usually get boba or eat or bake. I can always talk to Esme about anything that is happening in my life and I know that she's always there for me. Sometimes when I'm super stressed out with classes and studying, she'll text me to ask how I'm doing or how I did on a test and this is just one thing that I really appreciate about my smalls. She always reaches out to me when I need it the most. E: She's like my ate! I love her so much and could not have wished for a better big. Food and boba are very important to us, and baking is a big beast farm girls thing! We both have been super busy so we don't get to hang out as much as I wish we could, but either way, I know she's always there for me. I tell her everything. She's always there to cheer me on and supports me through harder times. I know I can always count on her even after she graduates and I am so grateful to call her my biggie. That's also the thing about Beast Farm, even though most of them have graduated, I know they are all still there for me and I can't wait to meet up with them everything we're in the same area. -- What’s something you’ve learned from your BIGGIE/smalls? M: Esme has taught me how important quality time is. It doesn't matter if I see her multiple times in a week or once a week, the time we have together is always well spent. There is never a moment of silence with Esme and I honestly value that so much - we always have something to talk about or laugh about. I've learned that I'll always have her to come back to on the East Coast - especially New York. :) E: Meryl taught me to be confident and to not give up. She pushes me to see my worth and to work hard to achieve my goals. Even when there's an obstacle or you don't get what you want, there's a silver lining and a way to make a difference or better yourself some other way. -- What’s one of your favorite moments with your BIGGIE/smalls? M: I have a lot of favorite moments with Esme so it's so hard to pick!! In the summer, Esme used to sleepover with Amira and I at our Mass Ave. apartment and it was so fun! But I think one moment I loved with Esme was the last time we hung out with Amira as a fam. We baked brownies with marshmallows and Amira gave us all matching rings! So even when I move back home soon, I'll always think of Esme and my fam when I look at my ring! E: I'm having such a hard time choosing just one. I have had so many great moments with Meryl. Whether it was living with her and Amira, my GG, for a little over a week before the Fall semester, or sleeping over for the weekend and making smores with her. All of our nails and boba runs. I think the one of the best moments would be when I wanted to hang out with her on my birthday without telling her and she had to figure it out as we were walking through Sephora waiting to get brunch. She is one of the only people who know when that day is and I wouldn't want to share a strawberry shortcake with anyone else!
