BIGGIE: Francesca Obordo, Alumni (‘19), Industrial Engineering
smalls: Noah-John Hizon, Alumni (‘19), Industrial Engineering
Family: Rogue

-- Describe your relationship with your BIGGIE/smalls!
F:  Noah (aka, smol) and I (aka, big-e) have the chillest BIGGIEsmalls relationship. Whenever we get the chance to catch up on our hectic lives, we usually spill out all our woes to each other cus we know we’ll always get it. I know I can always go to him for advice on anything. We’re goons and can be total goofs around each other and I love that!

N:  Before I ever decided to go to Northeastern (or officially meeting her), Fran actually played a pivotal role in influencing my decision to commit when I talked to her through Amira. During my freshman year, we actually unofficially named ourselves as BIGGIE & smalls when neither of us got paired by eboard haha. Combined we share a total of 1.5 brain cells. In our industrial engineering classes senior year, neither of us had any idea wtf was going on, but we schemed and helped each other when necessary. I can always talk pretty naturally with Fran, no matter how long it's been since we've last seen each other.

-- What’s something you’ve learned from your BIGGIE/smalls?
F:  Something I’ve learned from my lil smol is perseverance in silence, and absolute humility. Noah is one of the most hard working, dedicated, and HUMBLE people I know. He lowkey gets things DONE, then comes out the woodwork like nothing happened lol. For example, I didn’t even know Nomads was in the works until it was an officially formed group. He didn’t announce what he was working on to the world until it was a real thing. And even then, he didn’t go around highlighting that he was the founder of the crew. I’m so incredibly proud of him. He’s grown so much over the years, yet still managed to stay humble and real. DAS MY SMOL.

N:  Fran taught me to always respect my parents, eat plenty of vegetables, pray unceasingly, and to never give up on my dreams. She also taught me that the skin touching the inside of your watch smells funky after wearing it for a while. In general, my BIGGIE has given me some dope life/professional advice and I'm really blessed to have met her during my college experience.

-- What’s one of your favorite moments with your BIGGIE/smalls?
F: One of my favorite moments with my smol was graduation day for the College of Engineering. We’re both industrial engineers, so we spent that entire day together. Like, from finding each other in the huge tents they set up outside Matthews Arena, to walking all the way back to my apartment on Mass Ave cus Noah’s butt forgot to wear his flowers lmao. Then we walked together, me leading the way ofc, to get our COE certificates. And when we got back to our seats, I had this overwhelming sense that we made it. And my smol was right next to me!!! I wouldn’t have wanted any other goof by my side in that moment.

N:  During the first semester of my freshman year, after my 11:45 intro to chem class, Fran and I would always get lunch at Rebecca's, then she would let me nap on her apartment couch in Coventry. I would sometimes wake up 5 hours later and her roommates (Amira and Annie, bless their souls) would always wonder wtf I was doing there. Those were the best naps I ever had during my entire college career.
